This is a solid product for the price. However, if you won't finish your build for several months, no point in buying a GPU now I'd say. The upcoming products (e.g. RTX 4070, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT etc) are direct replacements/upgrades for this class of GPU and would put additional pressure on retailers to discount last gen. Depending on when you finish your build, you could also benefit from things like president's day, memorial day, amazon prime day sales etc.

Also, there's hardly any reason there would be shortages this year based on public financial reports released by TSMC, NVIDIA, AMD etc. All reports indicate the main supplier TSMC has excess capacity and sales are down, especially for desktop GPUs.

Noise level for this card?

I didn't notice any increase, but it's in a FD Define case.

Except the next gen cards are ridiculously overpriced. Once the past gen sells out have fun spending $800 for a 4070.

I have this card. It sucks at RT, but good with other stuff. The fan can be loud unless you turn it off

All but the highest end AMD cards suck at RT sadly. I would rather not support Nvidia's continuous anti-consumer behavior, but I also would like the ability to take advantage of RT and more importantly (and prevalent) DLSS.

I'm barely able to consider AMD here bc at this price point, you're prob not going to get great RT performance anyway (1440p) even with an Nvidia card, so might as well go AMD.

I agree to an extent, but he can get annoying at times. However, not so much lately which is good.

6700xt is a good bang for the buck. I also bought 2k and 4k moniters. 6700xt can support those two new monitors.

Nvidia offers better game support and features across the board. I've been gaming for years. Every one of my friends that has gotten an amd has switched to nvidia in the past year
I bought the Nvidia rtx 2060 a few months back, installed it, and its been working great. But...I just found out the other day when I went to play one of my 3d movies on my 3d tv, that nvidia removed the ability to play 3d mkvs. The movies play, but the 3d isnt working correctly. Now I have to keep my old vid card around in an old pc or figure out a new way to play the 3d movies. I wonder if Radeon cards removed that feature too or if its just an Nvidia thing. I'll have to look into this.

I know that this is better off on 1440p, but how does a 6650 XT really perform compared to the 6700 XT?

I'm running an r9 390 and it's probably time to upgrade, want to get something with HDMI 2.1 so I can get the most out of the 4k TV I'm using as a monitor. Good option for an upgrade?

Having to purchase an $800 RTX 4070 Ti instead of an RX 6700 XT seems like a wild suggestion. This assumes that we don't get an RX 7800 XT/7700 XT/7600 XT or the RTX 4070/4060 Ti/4060 this entire year. Given that TSMC has already been paid, there's no reason for both AMD and NVIDIA to produce nothing for the mass market.

Is this based off of any pubic data or even credible supply side leaks? I follow major tech companies due to investments I made over the years and see nothing to support what you're saying.
