Ideally, you'll want to wash your feet first with warm water and soap to soften the skin.
Wipe off excess water, then gently file off the excess skin build up on your heels. Some people might find filing their heels a bit uncomfortable, some are fine with it. I use a fine skin filer every week since I do yoga and kickboxing classes barefoot.
After filing your heels, a shower would be ideal. Dry your heels, and put some lotion on it.
It may sound like a lot of work, but it's worth it. I hope this comment can help someone.
