I always used to have dry, hard cracked heels. Then I started filing the thick dry skin off with a foot file, and using losion at night. No more thick dry cracked skin - ever. Ya gotta file it off. No amount of balm will help you remove the dead krusted skin.

This works wonders for my feet, which seem to get painfully cracked and dry in the winter time. The stick lasted me about a year. Perfect timing on the deal.

Yes i do pedicures and i tell people all the time that it doesn't matter what you put on if you are just putting it on stuff that is just dead anyways and its not penetrating through

Welcome to Amazon. They don't always include common sense in the equation. Many items can be ordered with S&S are this way. Nail clippers for example. Our job at SD is to take advantage of the savings until they figure it out.

I guess that for some people it's a recurring thing. This makes me think of some radio ad for an antacid, I forget which one but I think it's one that used to be prescription but is now OTC. One of the things they mention in the "fine print" is that it's not for immediate relief. I understand what they're saying but it seems rather incongruous since for most people, stomach acid is an acute issue and they're not looking for relief in two weeks.

For skin cracks of any kind, shea butter is like $6/pound and not only cures cracks in fairly short order, it also provides instant relief for the pain. And because of room-temperature consistency (similar to cold butter), it can be easily shaped and molded for the application and is easy to cover with a bandage.

I used to have terrible painful and annoying cracking feet. Often to where I had to super glue cracks closed to get a little temp relief.

The only thing that ever helped was o'keeffe's (working hands or happy feet work).

I still get calluses when I get lazy and don't use it but never to the point of cracking anymore and just a couple times of bath time pumice stone with O'Keefe's after set me straight for months.

I'm going to grab one of if these though as the chapstick applicator looks kind of cool lol.

I will likely use your thyroid tips. not sure what t4 is.

Nice! Wish I would have known about it 20 years ago. T4 is storage form of thyroid hormone, your body should convert it to T3 (active form). Some people have problems converting though. Make sure specialist checks T3 and RT3(blocking form of hormone, think severe stress/injury, it makes you tired) and not just TSH/T4. Look up doctors who use T3. It doesn't mean you'll need it, but at least it means the doctor will test more than TSH/T4.

Dry heels is one thing. Severe cracked is thyroid.

Raccoonish is 100% correct. I recently started using these dry-on-dry before the shower:
https://www.amazon.com/U-S-Pumice...ing-Stick/

Then after the shower, apply some of this:

It's like a night-and-day difference. No more cracks or hooves!

DREMEL does a fantastic job on heels, other hard spots too. Even a cheap rotary tool as long as it has good variable speed. I really recommend getting a shield attachment if your dealing with really dry skin, you may find yourself enveloped in a cloud of skin dust! Been dremel'ing our feet for years without any problems. Drill brush works great too.. Wink

This usually works great for me but IJust received my order and it was a completely solid stick that I would have thought was frozen solid if it was left outside all day but it was not. Ugh...
