I was between the Sonos Arc and the Bose 700. Costco had them both on display. I honestly thought the 700 sounded better. In my case the Atmos doesnt come into play as my ceilings are too high for the sounds to effectively get the experience. Just looking at consumer reports website under soundbars, the 700 is listed as 3rd highest ranked in the category. The Arc took 1st.

My 2 cents...Is this soundbar overpriced? 100%...With that said, I've been using it with the sub since 2019. The software was terrible at one point and I got really pissed off. But Bose released several updates (firmware and mobile app) over the past few years and at-least for me personally this soundbar is stable now and doing what it's supposed to. The soundstage is pretty good for a living room setup. Yes, there is no atmos. But I can almost guarantee if you buy the soundbar 900, you'll still feel the product is overpriced. There are much better options at that price range.
But at $450 bucks, for the aesthetics and decent soundstage, it's not terrible by any means.
One last thing I'd like to point out, the soundstage needs to be tuned with the provided headset, otherwise sound can be pretty uninspiring. But once calibrated, it can produce great effects.
Finally, this is NOT a replacement for a traditional Hi-Fi setup.
I tried sony a7000, a5000 and sonos arc and went with a bose 900. Honestly I don't understand why people say bose is overpriced when all of more expensive sound bars that I tried didn't produce better sound yet produced super hallow sound. I am happy with my bose 900.
The only thing I want to try is that get two apple home pods and make them as a stereo as I am using an apple tv 4k.
Have this one and Sony Bravia tv for some reason they don't work good together. Every time I get it connected it disconnects and it's impossible to connect back. Waisted a lot of time troubleshooting on phone with bose and Sony. Even send sound bar to bose for troubleshooting. Bose is blaming tv and Sony is saying it's bose problem. Anyway now it's mostly used as decoration piece in front of tv.
I have this soundbar, I was an early adopter, sound quality it really good but you will need the sub. Like everyone said it was painful to setup when it came out but after they fixed the software it's much better. I use Apple TV remote to control volume

Unplug the power and plug it back. Worked on bose 900.
