Woot![woot.com] has EPOS Sennheiser GSP 300 Wired Gaming Headset w/ Microphone on sale from $19.99. Shipping is free w/ Amazon Prime, otherwise shipping is $6.
Don't do it. EPOS is not made by Sennheiser. The ear pads will wear out in less than a year. You will lose connection and your mic will cut out. The E Pile Of Shit isn't worth the low asking price. Me and my wife had been tricked into thinking these were made by senn and had to return 3 sets, 1 to Amazon and 2 to Costco.
According to a price tracking site, this is an all-time low Amazon price even for used ones. I would jump on it, but I am too cheap to pay Woot $7 for shipping.
I bought three 300 not that long ago, with a sound card they sound decent, they don't seem to handle lows well and the microphone does ok given you have a noise cancelling option on your sound card.
With on board audio they sounded pretty bad and so did the microphone.
Got my GSP 670's today. Love them at $120. I wouldn't buy them at their original price at $350 though. They sound really good, well balanced for a gaming headset. The best gaming headset I've heard, not the best headphones ever, but the best gaming headset so far.
Not sure about Sennheiser, but I had Razer Kraken and I liked it. Pretty lightweight, decent sound, good mic
Thanks I got it today, and it's so confusing which model it is, since Woot didn't specify. But this model is the 2019 Kraken version, aka "3rd generation Kraken," aka the RZ04-02830500-R3U1, aka https://electronics.woot.com/offe...-headset-8
I have a ton of headphones and after comparing, I can say this:
1. The Kraken mic is kind of weak, even after I set the input volume to 100 in Windows. But a small mic boost via Windows Properties-Recording-Levels made it ok (I googled how and was done after a few clicks).
2, As for the sound, it's outstanding for a $20 headset-mic combo, so much that I'm thinking about buying another set or two to give as gift(s). It's not as good as some headphone I have that cost me 10 time more money, but is to be expected.
3. Apparently you need to buy a separate adapter for the Xbox so it's kind of misleading to say it's a console headset, more like console-compatible. Lots of angry reviews on Amazon about it, but I'm on PC, not Xbox, so it makes no difference to me. I don't see angry PS4/PS5 users so I guess they don't need an adapter.
4. Headset to mute/volume control cable length is about 18 inches, then maybe another 3 feet till the first plug. Then I plugged in the extension/splitter which 6 feet, give or take for a total of 9 feet of cable. The extensions/plitter plugs right into the front-panel pink (mic) and green (headphones) holes at the front of my PC.
5. Edit: After wearing this for longer, I can say that it's comfortable enough for a few hours of gaming or moviewatching, but not something I'd want to wear for 8 hours at a time or something like that. The comfy earpads are fine, but the headset weighs a bit more than some of my other headsets.
I hope that helped anyone who was curious about the Kraken!
I got the GSP 670s and sent them back. I could not get them to sound good no matter how much tuning I did in the Epos software. I think their software is to blame. Almost every setting sounded the same and bass was almost non existent. My Corsair Virtuoso XTs blow these things away in sound and mic quality.
They were also incredibly uncomfortable on my big head after wearing for about 30 minutes. I really liked the look of them and all of the adjustability they have but after a while, they just started to hurt. They're pretty heavy so I think that's why.

Wonder of the 500s are with the price difference
