People are going to crap on dominos but it's the best of the big three in terms of quality to price balance. Papa John's is probably higher quality but the coupons make Dominos like half the price.
Sure a local pizza place is better but a large pie might run you $20 these days.

Recommendations if you get in on this deal:
$7.99 1-topping large, choose carryout, then you'll get a $3 discount code which stacks with other coupons for your next order, bringing your total down to $5.40 for each subsequent order as you rinse and repeat this process. That carryout promo order runs through mid-March I think but irrespective of the quality debate, $5 for a large pizza that isn't frozen is an insane deal in 2023. Add to that the GC discount and you're looking at like $4. Madness.
The problem (at least in my area) is the app simply won't accept the gift card sometimes. The field is greyed out without explanation. I only eat Domino's 5-6 times a year so that's pretty annoying in itself.
Some of the higher end pizzerias in my area are up to $28.00 for 18" large cheese/pepperoni.
Dominoes in a pinch on the road is ok, but our local pizzas, even the cheap ones are way better.
If we are going that route, a lot of local pizzerias are going to be better quality, but they aren't budget friendly enough to eat more than once a month for most people. A decent medium size will easily run $15-20, and a large will often $25-30.
Compared to the three big chains (dominos, pizza hut, papa johns), I prefer domino's in terms of flavor and cost. But a lot of it also depends on the local store for any of these. For example, the domino's that is closest in terms of distance was trash quality and skimped on all the toppings, while the one 0.5 mile farther is better quality and more generous with toppings.

Last year I was getting 3 toppings with this deal for the same price. I haven't bought Dominos since they lowered the toppings to one on the carryout deal.

Yeah I hear you, still a good deal at 1 topping though. 3 toppings was a great hack to make a poor man's specialty though.

What's wrong with the website or phoning in and paying at pick-up?
Next year you'll be saying still a good deal at 1\3 topping
Tbh Pizza Hut 1 topping large is $10 and Papa Johns is like $12.. Dominos had no competition at that price point so they took away 2 toppings. Blame the other places for being so expensive.
