I'm looking to get into video games to make good use of my new RX6600 video card, and most of the top titles don't really appeal to me, being dark both thematically and visually and based on dystopian realities filled with lots of hostile things you have to kill to survive and advance. But somehow this game appeals to me, perhaps because it doesn't seem to be about straight-on brutality but also guile and deception. Is there anything to this perception or is it mostly like all the others?
Bro, they're video games, its not that deep. You are judging things by their cover and turning your nose based upon some weird criteria. The RE series is one of the darkest and most hostile, you're headshotting zombies all day and walking through environments filled with blood and body parts

Well, I'm pretty sure that if the covers and preview videos show a lot of shooting and killing then the games themselves involve a lot of shooting and killing, which I'm not really interested in. Not judging, just not for me. Maybe if I was a lot younger. I thought that RE was more about strategy than violence. I guess I got that one wrong.

If that's the case, Xbox might not be the right console for you lol. A lot of the exclusive and/or most popular AAA titles for the console all involve violence and dystopian landscapes to some degree. Gears, Halo, Fallout, Cyberpunk, COD, Resident Evil, the list goes on. That is the exact reason why I also bought a Switch. Xbox can get a bit intense

I didn't realize that this was for the Xbox as I'd be gaming on a PC. But I was asking about the title as I assume that the console & PC versions are very similar. And I'm not ruling out a dystopian shooter-type game at some point, I'm sure they can be fun too, it's just that it's not at the top of my preferences at present.

That was a better deal
Is it true this is just a port of the remade GameCube versions? I never played them but I loved the original resident evil on playstation
My fav thing about the RE series games is the pacing. Suspense, surprise moments, high action events, chill out puzzles. RE7 literally made me jump.
