In some markets, locking blade knives are considered "weapons," people might look for this style knife for legal purposes.
I'd say that it would make a good fishing knife if it were stainless lol.

So sad. Arizona I can own anything I want as long as it's a non nfa item.
D2 is "semi-stainless" and that's charitable. It's too corrosion prone for pocket carry in hot sweaty climates. It will see surface rust, same day, from mild exposure in places like Florida- I've had it happen to me.

Very familiar, if you've got to coat a knife in something to stop daily corrosion that's a problem for pocket carry, and an even bigger problem for a fishing knife. If it works for you it works for you, I've had about half a dozen d2 blades- and only the one with the additional coating didn't see quick and regular rust. Personally, I'll leave D2 for tools that I can leave coated in oils.
Not everyone lives near the sea or in humid climate.
Certainly true, like I said If it works for you. Lots of people have sweaty pockets in the summer as well- tool steels make for tough knives that take abuse- but they are bottom tier for corrosion resistance in comparison when lumped in with actual stainless steels. D2 makes perfect sense to me for a fixed blade knife that someone might pry with and abuse- but for a pocket carry folder it's terrible IME. Some people don't mind a bit of rust on their knives- most people I know do.

Yep. My EDC is a Spyderco Autonomy 2.
Apparently others have had better experience with D2: https://www.bladeforums
