Better performance. Basically the best you will get without going to the $700 6950xt.

then your answer begs for the question of "what makes this $130 less than the 6950XT?" LOL

it really comes down to the games you play and the fps/graphic details/resolution you want from it. if RX 6800 is slightly more than enough for your needs, then save your $80. but if that barely satisfies your need and you got $80 more to spare, then you have this RX 6800 XT.

it used to be that this (reference RX 6800 XT) has a MSRP of $649 while the RX 6800's MSRP of $579 and $1000/$1100 for RX 6900/6950 XT. so RX 6800 (XT) seems like a good deal (and bangs for your bucks) without going 4 figure.

Does anybody know if the 6800 XT is still in production or are they just trying to sell off existing stock?

It's out of production. They're just trying to get rid of the existing stock.

Man, I thought these cards were supposed to come down in price as the new cards came out. I picked up a 6800XT for $514 from NewEgg a couple of months ago. What's with the crazy pricing?

It seems both Nvidia and AMD are playing games with existing inventory to try and keep the prices up or from falling to far. Looks like they have been trickling the surplus inventory to retail to try and manipulate the market and maintain the FOMO of inventory shortages.
