I check some of the review and it looks like GE has a generic version of this also.

According to the Q&A in the ge one, its 500v clamping but one of the question also says it has no surge protection. So not really sure. Also monoprice has a version of this and monoprice says its 500v clamping also. 500v is okay, not the best as things like anker is like over 600v and some generic ones are like 700v+

Chinese manufacturers seem to master "what you pay is what you get" principle. Pay crap, get crap..
This is US manufacturers living by "pay for the best, hope for the best" with no price-to-quality correlation.

As a mfg, You get the quality you can control.

Question for you about the mastering principle...: So the Chinese-built HDTV that you have at home, today, which probably cost you hundreds, or even thousands, less than the Chinese (or American, for that matter) TV you bought 10-15 years ago, is "crap?" Okay..
No
I am saying that if similar products are $10 and $50 on Ali, there is a significant difference in quality and functionality.
Same thing would be available for $150 from US manufacturer, and quality would be anywhere between two options on Ali -ot maybe outside that range in either direction. That's an apple to apple comparison.
Comparison of fast evolving technology over generations is apples to oranges.

Or willing to control. I don't have same expectations for a paper cup and fine china cup...
There are definitely things made deliberately cheap. Paper thin metal cast frames seemingly made of dried bread strength-wise come to mind

You are probably typing that on a device made in whole or parts in China.
made in China is not a reflection of quality (or lack thereof)
Some of the greatest products are Made in China,,just like some of the worst are also Made in China.
The issue is therefore not where they were made but how, regardless of where they were made.

However, you can keep your head buried in the sand and dismiss Chinese progress while they are now serious contenders than cannot be dismissed with outdated cliches
The proper reaction should be to step up our game instead of exposing our lack of understanding with hasty generalizations

Finally, a rational comment about Chinese/ Foreign made products.

Can you plug power strips into these to gain lots of extra outlets? Need something for a computer table that will have lots of equipment plugged in. Monitors, computers, desktop switches, etc. Nothing that draws a ton of power. Just lots of things that use a little power.

most amazon affiliated deal in here is

the question is how good is, I usually buy in skeptical and return it when is not good.
some are good and some are not. I prefer to buy cheap discounted extension or on-wall outlets from Bricks and mortars store, where they adhere to "by laws in here".

but.. I bought some in the past from cheap amazon, and kept it due to quality. yeah when I got it, I always dissembled it , to know the material inside. but... the good chinese quality is getting more $$ as I know recently, Do I have to lower my expectation heheheh?

Clamping voltage should be 400 volts at the most, and 330 volts is preferred. This is 500 volts, so not good.

I have two of the monoprice units and haven't had any issues. Note the monoprice units are rated at 2160 joules, so they can take more hits.
