Ok i think microcenter needs its own subforum.
My disappointment is immeasurable when i see a great deal just to find out its microcenter, and my day is ruined.

I miss the days of the old, massive Computer Shopper magazine when there were dozens and dozens of merchants all competing on price. Consolidation has not been kind to consumers.

People getting these at this point would likely be for budget gaming and everyday use, who aren't necessarily going to get a super high end GPU or SSD where PCIE gen 4.0 would be needed/noticeable. And there's no "futureproofing" with AM4 anymore (makes very little sense to upgrade to a 5950x years from now), so B450 isn't detrimental.

That is no special about MC, no shop would allow you to return part of a deal combo and keep the discount. You could have returned the whole combo. Wrong expectation on your side.

A good deal. I still have a 5600 I bought 1 1/2 years ago for $230 with a $80. 450 board and it works great for the NET, Photoshop, Editing, etc. Has a 1080ti GPU.

My main computer is a AMD 550 board and a 3060ti GPU that I won/bought on the NewEgg lottery last year. Bought a 5800 chip with 32G ram and Video editing cuts very smooth. Also Topaz Video AI renders fast.

This actually could be a power supply problem. Try a different reputable power supply with enough power.

Tempted to get this for my son, as it's actually quite a bit of performance for the money. He is using an overclocked FX 8350 that was mine years ago, which honestly works great still and is paired with a black friday RX6600. I even modded the UEFI BIOS to insert an NVMe module, so I could use one of my enterprise NVMe drives with it. To get the CPU to perform well enough for most games, it has to be pushing the limits of the chip on overclocking and gets his room pretty warm in the process. This would be a more natural good pairing for the GPU he has.

There is no Microcenter in Seattle anywhere. THey waste loads of advertising one people who cannot buy from them. Maybe if they are such a tech company they can discover some new thing they call ON LINE SHOPPING???? Hey Microcenter you can't figure out how to ship products? Losers.
