It was 15% black friday. $850 for $1K worth of cards. Usually around March they will have a coupon for 10% off Lowe's gift cards. If you buy it on Saturday and clip the 5 off 25 on your account you can usually get $5 extra items free. You just have to buy extra items. It won't take it off the gift card.

If you use gift cards you do have to go to ms/xbox redeem page first and input the giftcard codes. Then go to purchase your controller.

My son has been saving his money for an XBox Series X console. We went to Dollar General and after a few attempts, cashier (who was amazing and very helpful) discovered that it couldn't be combined in one single transaction. So I had to buy in 9 different transactions:
8 - (3 packs of $20 for $60) at $51 each or $408
1 - $50 at $42.50
= $450.50

I then redeemed all gift cards, for a total of $530

$533.34 at checkout - Applied $530 in gift cards and paid the remaining $3.34.

I also used my Alliant Credit Union Signature Visa for another 2.5% cash back. Unfortunately Dollar General is not considered Grocery Store (here in Ohio) for 5% on Citi Double Cash. It also looks like Discover and Chase Flex doesn't consider Dollar General as a Grocery Store.
