You cannot use this plan as an extension or to port over an existing Mint Mobile Number.
I have a plan that runs out in April… I have been using the mint plans for a while and they aren't the best but they are the cheapest I've seen…
EDIT: multiple answers
Q: Question…… when must the SIM card be Activated? I assume the card expires after that date?

A:Answer Mint requires you to activate your sim within 45 days of purchase.
So if you buy today you have to activate by about march 15th… though I find that mint is generally forgiving on these dates…

TLDR: you can activate bestbuy ones even after more than a year, until the expiration date of that sim. I just activated my 1.5 year old purchase a month ago
