Why stop there. Take that same stick and save you even more money bubba, just tie that there line to that there stick and Presto. No more need for that expensive hi tech rod and reel.

Also can do it on the ground with your feet/toes and apply pressure against the ground for tension on the line if needed

Do you mean spinning REEL? If so why not? The product says specifically to use on spinning and casting reels.

There are 2 configurations on this. 1 for caster, and a different one for spinner. Read the instructions. Works perfect with either. I’ve owned this for years and have spoiled up countless reels.

I used to have a similar one, forgot about it's brand, maybe Berkeley. The issue is that it needs to clip on the fishing rod in order to make it work. With the limited hole diameters it has, in most cases I ended up having the hole bigger than my rod's diameter and hence the whole thing rubs against the line guide below it, which ended with rod paint chips and line guide dents. I ended up only use it on the butt section of a broken rod. Another limitation is that it only works for small filler spools (those 150yd / 300 yd ones). Once I moved to only buying those cheaper and bigger 1/2 and 1 lbs bulk lines (those typical 1500+ yards large spools), this thing became useless.

most of us live pretty close to one. so its worth referencing a "name brand" for fishing line having a cheaper fishin line thing
