If your motherboard supports it, this is a no brainer IMO.
some less experienced users may break their pc while doing the update.
But if updating BIOS/UEFI isn't a problem or not needed, then IMO the best AM4 CPUs are
5800x3d, 5950x, 5700x, 5600.
Ask yourself why you want to upgrade the CPU first.
Even with 5800x3d, it is still slower than the i5-13600K.
Not a helpful answer. Your telling this person even the 5800x3d isn't as good as the 13600k.
You just compared a 800$ upgrade to a 130$ upgrade.
Yeah. It would make more sense to upgrade from your 2600. I have a 3600 and it would be a small upgrade for me but would be a size able upgrade for you. Just be sure to update your bios to the latest.
But consider the 180$ 5700x on Amazon.
will it make a big difference to upgrade for gaming??
It might also drop support for some older processors so it's possible you won't be able to boot your system with your existing processor after upgrading if your old CPU happens to be one of the ones that get dropped from support.
It's not the most straight forward upgrade but upgrading a 1000 or 2000 series Ryzen to a 5000 series is a pretty strong upgrade for for being able to just upgrade the processor.
There are certainly better processors than the 5600 or even the 5800x 3d but they are going to be more expensive options requiring a new MB and memory along with the processor.

Yeah give it a shot. Unless you want to build a system and sell it for more. But try locally first

Honestly. Only if your cpu is holding you back. Open up your task manager and see what percentage your cpu is using when playing games. If it's 80-100% then it would make sense. If it's like 50-60% it probably won't make much of a difference
