For those that are asking, I was also curious about the difference.
Cerave moisturizing cream has ceramides, hyaluronic acid and petrolatum.
The Night Cream has shea butter, ceramides, niacinamide, peptides and hyaluronic acid. I was interested in trying something with niacinamide and peptides. Niacinamide has been shown to ease inflammation, which can help calm redness due to conditions like acne, rosacea and eczema.

This stuff helps tremendously If using Differin Gel or Tretinoin cream. My local Kroger had a deal on this that came out to about $6 a piece. Most likely YMMV but $10 is a nice price

I did some research and the reviews from dermatologists on this are great. Definitely a buy for me!

What's the difference??? What would my skin need at night vs any other time of the day (not including sun screen)??

Not entirely certain but some ingredients make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and you shouldn't wear the cream in sunlight.

How does it help when combined with Tretinoin?

List price showed a little cheaper on Amazon than what post says so I was able to snag 1 for $9.14. Thanks op!

Contains Niacinamide which helps reduce redness and inflammation that Tretinoin can cause. Includes hyaluronic acid which boosts skin moisture. And contains CERAMIDES which helps with skin barrier. Basically a very good night moisturizer when using a Retinoid or retinol. In for one.
