The Ryobi USB Lithium Power Cutter is on sale for $59.97 if you choose the 3 battery option. $59.97 is the usual price for the Cutter and just 1 battery.

I bought this tool a few months ago, mostly for breaking down cardboard boxes and blister packaging. It works like a charm for blister packaging. Unfortunately it does a very poor job with cardboard from my experience; the cutting opening is just too narrow so gets jammed constantly. Can't comment on cutting something thinner like fabric or leather. If you are mostly looking to break down cardboard, I'd recommend something like the Milwaukee 3-in1 Cutting/Scraping blade for an oscillating tool. Cuts through cardboard like butter.
i'm a huge ryobi fan and have more tools than I need and have been watching for a deal on this thing forever....

but recently got the worx version for half the price, and love it.

Holy christ! I love Ryobi and have thousands of dollars in Ryobi 18v tools, but $60 for a cutter.... c'mon

Well harbor freight branded cutter is like $35+- and it has a sealed battery. This has interchangeable batteries (and 3 of them). Also you can use the batteries in other tools in this line.

Basically getting one less battery but two additional tools for free… I don't need the hot glue gun, but maybe I can sell it for $20.

I bought the single battery kit like a week ago for $25. For that price, it does a great job. Not sure if i'd pay more, as it could use a bit more power with thick cardboard. We're always filling our recycling bin, and this has allowed me to tame all the amazon boxes.

Is it stronger than wrox versus? Does it cut thick cardboard?

I just purchased this deal since it made more sense for me. Sure it's double the price, but if I only needed the cutter I'd spring for that ebay $25 deal instead.

I need to get one of these, its just a matter of time until I slice myself open breaking down boxes or cutting up carpet. Seems like the Worx version may be a better buy, especially for what I'd use it for.

Ryobi used to ditch older 4V batteries, which makes me think twice before jumping on this new 4V. It wasn't the case with their 18V.

Was just about to post something along these lines. Ryobi hasn't had this 4V design very long, who knows if they will stick with it like 18v. Ryobi also used to have a 12v line. Basically anything under 18v they've never stuck with a specific line for long.

Have you tried this for breaking down cardboard? Slices smoothly through cardboard. https://www.amazon.com/CANARY-Cor...150&sr=8-2

I have not but I'll have to check that out. My wife likes to cut open boxes with scissors so just a matter of time before she stabs herself...
