Moisture from your body is smaller than water droplets from rain. Basically allows the heated moisture to escape and the fabric has pores small enough so that the water won't enter.
Fishing deals always get my attention.
I bought this on the presale. First trip was on the ocean, cold and wet outside, but this jacket and the bibs kept me warm and dry. It seems well thought out and put together. Since they are new, I can't speak to longevity, but so far they are doing their job well.

It's not as breathable as other fabrics, even Gore Tex. But they are supposedly slightly breathable. You'll still trap moisture inside...in waterproof clothing, there are compromises. I'm dubious it's breathable.
Also, the waterproof coating will need to be reapplied periodically. That's standard operating procedure for these coated jackets.

It's not a coating. The waterproofness comes from a thin material membrane. It does indeed wear out (breaks down) over time. If you add a "coating" to the product you are just changing how it originally worked.
This has a breathability/waterproof rating of 15K mm and Gore Tex is 28k mm. Still good but definitely not high end gear. In hard rain or high intensity activities, that will make a big difference.
I don't fish but I might be moving to the eastern US in a rainy area. I like the subtle look of the jacket. seems good one to keep in the trunk of the car for most spring/summer/fall days

I've had bad experiences with multiple product lines from Kast King, with the notable exception of their rod storage. Reels are junk, sunglasses are junk. I'm not sure I'd risk it with apparel even at this price.

It clearly states in the description that it has a DWR coating so yes that needs to be reapplied periodically. You dont know what you are talking about.
