Can anyone recommend a good rain shell or jacket with pit zippers that is somewhat professional looking but can be used for serious hiking occasionally as well?

The precip has always been a solid rain jacket/shell. Affordable and good looking... versions have been around for years. 'Professional' will depend on color.

Previously posted some good deals at Macy's as well...

I had a parka hooded men's down jacket I bought in 2009 and it is still looking good after 12 years . Very warm and super light . I gave it away to my father in law . I no longer find this on marmot !

My Precip is ancient at this point and still going strong... break it out a lot during hunting season so I don't get shot while hiking. Bright orange and red.

Seconded on the Precip; if you're hiking and need something for rain the non-pro is likely the better option - you'll likely sweat regardless, but the Pro looks way too "heavy" for the trail imo.

Plus there's 2 colors available atm suitable for normal human wear, which is a huge plus.
