Yes, very. All you have to do is label the zone with sprinkler head on the rain bird wire, then take down the hub, install the Rachio and connect the wires. Very easy.

Picked up an 8 zone even tho I only have 3 zones. Tired of running back and forth from controller to front yard when testing sprinklers

I bought one a couple of years ago. It was very easy to install and runs flawlessly. Make sure you get the correct version by counting your existing stations. After that all adjustments are made via the app. You can also manually run a station from the app.

Just remember that this doesn't work with all sprinkler systems, so you may need to spend an additional ~$50 on a pump start relay, depending on the type you have.

Looks like you need another case to go over this if used outside

Great deal, just take a picture of your wires and zones so you can match the colors of the wires. Super easy to install

Can't you get brand new ones on eBay for essentially the same price?

How's this compare to the b-hyve? Weather delays and responsiveness aren't great on my b-hyve.

I've been using a Gen1 Rachio for many years now. I was hoping to install a flow meter at some point, but it looks like that option is gone now and I don't really need local control from the panel. Given this, is there any real reason to upgrade from Gen1?

Looks like the outside enclosure would run another $30. I'd love to ditch my Rainbird with the craptastic WiFi plug in link that has horrible connection plus the GUI is trash. The rain sensor eats thru batteries and often doesn't register.

$120 ish to swap over seems worth it.

Most likely you have one already when they install your sprinkler system. I never seen a sprinkler system that comes with it.

Yes, very easy.

I also highly recommend that you get a surge protector/battery backup on this.

Last year I had a power outage where the power came on, then off right away a few times before it came full back on and it damaged my Rachio.

Got it replaced through Rachio and when it happened again in the fall, the unit was not damaged on the battery backup/surge protector that I bought.
