Re deal value: MSRP is about $40 so 18% off. If you consider the price of individual packs at four dollars a piece, you're paying $1 for soft (outer) sleeves, condition markers, damage counters, and energy cards. Given that you can sell sleeves on the secondary market for $2-4, that's a good deal. However, the "hit rate" on ETBs can be much lower than other TCG products (in general, not every time) and the sealed regular (non-Pokémon Center) ETB does not appreciate much in value (after 5 months it's -0.24) and the market value for loose packs (on 2-8-23) is 3.21. Just posting to say, flippers, don't waste your time, players and collectors - do pick up. And if you keep it sealed, also hit Target for the cereal box to keep it in.

Hit rate is not lower for ETBs. People tend to comment X had better pull rate than Y but it's just small sample size. There are some products such as Japanese boaster boxes that guarantee a secret rare per box but in general for English products there is no difference.

Correcting myself - I have had massively bad luck with ETBs.

Interesting. As a way to keep out humidity over the long term I'm assuming? But it's kinda expensive to buy them for storage in bulk. $10 x however many boxes.

I remember when those containers were discovered. It was a crazy time in the pokemans community and those were getting scalped hard.
Overrated honestly.
I wrap each one of my sealed etbs in a grocery bag and stick them in those black/ yellow containers.

My daughter recently got the battle arena and has really enjoyed playing with the 3 decks that come with it. If we wanted to add in some variety or create another deck, is this a good way to go or should we look for some of those premade decks that go on sale for closer to $10 sometimes?
