Because the Makita set is better and often for slightly cheaper.

Seriously the Makita impact gold drill bits work so well it's insane.

Milwaukee makes fantastic power tools. Most of their accessories are overpriced
Makita set last month was $3 cheaper and included a 1/2". Plus the makita came with a case that actually lets you remove bits.
Milwaukee's case is horrible for sure, I'm afraid of hurting my fingers because the bits are so tight in the case.

My 3/8 bit snapped at the base, drilling through thin metal on my snowblower. It was probably the 5th time I used it, but first time in metal. Other than that, it's been a great set and always seems to be my go to.

They used to include a 1/2 in. bit in these sets but now only go up to 3/8. Anybody might know why?

I recently bought and tried the Makita bits. One of the bits spun out of its base on first use. That never happened on any of the other brands I tried. I generally like Makita though and have some of their power tools.

You can't say "The" Makita set without linking to it (please 🥹).

This one? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makit.../305512520

It says 2.5x life vs Milwaukee 5x claim. No 'variable helix', split tip vs 'quad edge', straight web vs tapered, but does include 1/2 bit, and is only $1 more.

Reevaluation after these factors?

Because more people own ⅜" drills than ½" drills?

These bits are turned down for a 3/8" chuck, so NO!
