It was a lot of fun playing this on the Quest 2 wirelessly. One of the best VR games out there.
Yeah, so dead. 3D TV was a fad that lasted maybe 3-4 years before going (mostly) defunct. VR has been constantly growing and going on 10 years with tech that keeps getting better. gtfo.
This is one of the best games ever made. It's on my short list of greatest "entertainment" products of all-time. An absolutely fantastic game.

VR will never be dead. It will just be a slow growth until they make tech improvements. They will eventually improve the tech where the headsets will be lightweight and super high resolution and it will blow people away.
It's already there. I recently bought Meta Quest 2. What an amazing device and experience. I generally get motion sickness but with Quest 2 I never felt the motion sickness. Games like table tennis, golf, saints and sinners are phenomenal and very realistic. Games like supernatural are true gym exercise experience at home. I use supernatural every day for 15 to 30 mins to burn calories.

This is a good game. It's not just a good vr game. If all the games were like this VR would be more popular.

Can anyone comment on the no VR mod for Alyx? I would love to play, but last time I attempted VR I got really light headed and almost threw up.

I think you just connect your PC to the same wireless router as your PC (recommended PC be connected via ethernet).

You'll need to download the Oculus App on PC and login. I merged my Oculus with Meta. Unsure how this works if you haven't done that yet.

On the same Quest2 settings page (right side), you should be able to connect via Quest Link. From there, you gain desktop access to your PC, where you would lauch PC VR games.

That said, depending on how your PC/Network is setup, you might have to toy around with it and there may be a process to link AirLink to PC, but it was fairly straight forward when I did it last
There is another way which is also very smooth for witless gaming on Quest 2 that is using Virtual Desktop app. It's really good app for remote play.

Just started this game with a new high end rig and new Quest 2. You stream this from your PC and it doesn't take a lot of GPU. An incredible experience for a HL fan, seeing the first strider was shocking and the first vortaguant I met had me smiling ear to ear. It's fantastic. Other games I've tried are hit or miss but many are highly impressive in their own way. For $400 the Q2 is very impressive gamer tech, a whole lot of fun, and if you wed the right source with the right player porn is scarily immersive.

I set up my rig to run Returnal, Hogwart's, etc. with all bells and whistles and bought the VR kinda as a lark, and to play HL Alyx,

I could not care less about those other games while I explore what's available on VR. This will pass but man what a fun diversion. I'm sure I will regularly revisit games and fitness apps that have replay in mind but there is a limit to quality PC gamer grade content available, on the order of 30 or so games from what i can gather, none of which are better than HLA.
