I have a kitchen scale that I use. 1.5oz of dish soap + 0.5 rubbing alcohol (this is roughly 3 Tbsp of soap & 1 Tbps of alcohol), then fill with water. Add 0.5 oz of soap for stronger soap, or subtract 0.5oz for a less strength but more savings. After ingredients are added, gently agitate the bottle from side to side, or turn upside down and wait for the soap to release from the bottom. I usually make mine before bed to let everything dissolve, but it's usually ready within an hour. If you use it too early, it will be too thick to spray.

I will note that I use dawn platinum to make mine. The recipe should stay pretty much the same with other soaps, but it may not have the same potency.
Once you buy this kit, there is no reason to purchase the refils. They are just overpriced DILUTED Dawn! Some Dawn, rubbing alcohol, and water do the trick for about 25cents per refill. Search for Powerwash on YouTube or Google.
I tried to do the DIY home made version but it didn't come out correctly. Hardly any foam and smells like alcohol. I think the recipe was wrong 😑 any one can provide a tried and true recipe?

Is there a need to get this in the first place? Genuinely curious

I really like the spray bottle method of applying soap to dishes. I'm surprised no company had offered that before. With that said, once you have a spray bottle, I'm sure you could put this together yourself.

If you don't have a dishwasher this product is a game changer. More convenient and much faster way of putting soap down on a sink full of dishes you are washing by hand.

You paid more per bottle and have Amazon ready to take your money if you forget
$10.85/4 = $2.7125
$7.98/3 = $2.66

I find my homemade version doesn't work when I get close to the bottom of the bottle. I have to add more soap and water. I do mix it when I make it and it works well. But at 1/4 left its like it's just water.

I have to put in 5oz of dawn platinum with 0.5oz rubbing alcohol and the rest water to make it similar to the dawn power wash. I only need to make a quick spritz not a full spray to get a strong soap spray and it will last a while and multiple dishes. I don't know how you use less soap and make it last the same strength for the whole bottle.
Maybe its the Alcohol? what type of alcohol are you using?

The spray nozzle is specifically made to create a foam with the foaming agent they use in the formula. The homemade formula doesn't foam as much, but using it with the sprayer creates more foam than when tried with a regular spray bottle.
