I'd save my money. This is the older version of this hardware and will only run the legacy version of the iHealth app which by their own admission was less than perfect and the new version is far better. iHealth also stated last year that they would suspend any updates to the legacy version.

We are pleased to announce that a new version of our iHealth MyVitals app will be available soon. It is designed to provide you with a better user experience. Please expect the following changes:

1. The app you are using will become legacy version. We will no longer issue software updates for this app.
2. You will receive a notification with a link to download the new version of the iHealth MyVitals app. Please download it as soon as possible after receiving the notification."

iHealth is just looking to unload the last of their old stock that they no longer support.
Read #2 again. Sounds like this message was sent to existing customers to switch to the new s/w, so it's more than likely that old hardware will run with new software.
Dont fall for this crap again. I bought their blood pressure ease one for 10 bucks. Both dont connect to Bluetooth and when it finally does it disconnects 2 seconds after. They are probably just clearing out these items and hopjng people dont return it. .

This is the "normal" FP price range for oximeters but they don't include apps so don't know if that makes this a better deal?

Seems extremely likely or they'd alienate anyone without a smartphone (such as elderly people). It also has it's own display.

Seems likely but based upon the verbiage, it's still somewhat questionable. They should've been more specific (unless the info. quoted is incomplete). A phone call should clarify it but is the app really that important to begin with?

Man, even at $6 the reviews make it sound like junk. Granted, they probably paid more than $6.

I just bought their blood pressure cuff. If this is anything like the cuff, the app is optional. You have to manually turn it to "sync mode" to connect to the app. They market this as a privacy feature. That you have to go out of your way to upload to the app. But it's just a button on the device and a button in the app. Nothing crazy

Last weeks Slickdeal. Just received their blood pressure cuff yesterday. It was dead on arrival. Got reimbursed from Amazon. Same company, same junk, different product.
