Been using Forschner/Victorinox for over a decade. Good knives. Good value. They do take an edge, over time. Picked up a Mercer to fill in as boning, fillet knife. Considering the lower cost, and equal performance, I'm preferring Mercers for future additions. Very similar quality, with differences in handles. Both work well.

I believe 6 inches works for the majority of people vs 8 inches

Depends on your height and hand size. Most "average" sized people will be more comfortable with an 8 inch for a wide variety of tasks. Still there are times when a smaller knife is preferable. Best to have a selection.

These are awesome budget knives. I own several different Victorinox Fibrox knives I've purchased on Amazon (bread, chef, carving, paring) and every one of them is spectacular for the price and very easy to sharpen and keep sharp.

If you're interested in this specific size & shape of knife then you can't go wrong with this.

Just picked up one of these, great knife took a great edge on my stone and it's light and easy to use. Great for smaller easier quick jobs, and don't have to worry about misuse.
Thanks!!!
