Usually they have pretty good deals during their 'spring black friday' which should be sometime in the next few weeks. And Memorial Day of course, but that's awhile off if you're needing it now.
Thank God for slickdeals and sites like it. One little search and it was $2-2.3 last spring. Companies will take advantage of short term memory to jack up prices.

True. I recommend finding alternative organic media for the bottom layer. Leaves from last Fall, old mulch, trimmings from trees. You can even put larger branches and twigs at the very bottom and it will boost nutrients and heat over the course of decomp.
