Anytime Milwaukee bitsets come up people say how hard it is to get them out. And they aren't kidding. It's a royal pain and I have 3 different sets. I finally bought makita and that is the standard of how bits should be. So now I use makita bits in my Milwaukee drivers.

there's a new case that is much better and fits into their packout system but it's usually full price. All the stuff on sale now is to get rid of the old cases as you can usually find the same version with newer case at double the price.

I've never used the Makita bits but I've heard really good things about them. I usually pry one bit or a bit holder out and then use it to pry one of the smaller bits out. Is it efficient no but I guess it's better than losing bits if they fall out on their own. I'm not defending it, but I guess what I'm saying is that it could be worse too. I'll keep an eye out for the Makita stuff...but honestly I have hundreds of Milwaukee and Dewalt bits to burn through before I need any more.

I expected the people buying tools to be able to fix things, but apparently problem solving is a lost art. Just use the 1/4" bit and enlarge the holders slightly till the bits come out smoothly, sheesh.
Who should they send the bill to for the time it takes them to make a brand new product function properly as intended?

I bought this last time it was on sale. The case is nice and tidy, but I still had to go to HF to supplement for larger metric sizes. Kinda wish I just pieced together HF stuff as needed, but also having the case is a huge plus for organization. I threw in a HF 3/8 x 1/2 impact adapter into an open space in the case for more versatility.

For what it is, very handy. All around, solid enough.

Can you put these in a generic case or something?

You can either pay full price for the redesigned set, or spend 10 minutes modifying this one and save $80. Either way, go whine somewhere else.

This price is about the very most I would pay for this product.

Can you expand on this?

The only Milwaukee hand tools I own are their Fastback folding utility knives. It's the best folding utility knife I've found and for me that's largely due to their deep carry clip. The wire clip was a turnoff at first but it's actually been great.
