Every dang time. . .Friday night how I wanted RE 4 Remake off PlayStation store and checked SD noting there was no Dollar General or other cheap gift cards and thought what are the odds they will have this deal Sunday (usually only 2-3 times per year)) and paid full price. Oh well, thanks OP, time to stock up!
FYI - no you cannot use these gift cards on hardware.

Do you know if the gift card can be used for PlayStation plus renewals?
Just a reminder, I believe the limit for PSN accounts is $250, and the only better deal you normally get on these is 20% a few times a year.
And no, there is not a corporate policy that says these have to be purchased with cash, and you can use self-checkout. So if you can't do either one of those, its likely your local DG being jerks, try a different store.
Thanks... this is perfect for us PSVR 2 users since most of the games are digital downloads.
Even if they weren't, not sure why PSVR or PSVR 2 users would want to mess with physical.
And it looks like the limit is now $375 for PSN Wallets. It wasn't long ago it was $200.
Although I'll wait for 20% off before I consider trying to max it out. I don't like having cards that I don't redeem immediately in case there is any issue with redemption.

(but I did just buy $100 worth of cards at self-checkout using a contactless credit card--to verify what I said in my previous post)
