I just set it up last night for Windows 11. I had to boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager and find the unknown device, then update the driver and select the manually downloaded driver from the Kensington site. It now works great and is very convenient not just for Windows Hello logging in, but also unlocking my BitWarden vault.

Run this in Admin Powershell

Export-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination C:\Drivers-Backup

C:\Drivers-Backup can be set to wherever you want on the PC

I got one of these in the last deal. The unlock is fast and reliable. I didn't have to do anything special to make it work on Windows 10.

Make sure you scan all the different parts of your fingerprint when you set it up. Don't just put the same part of your finger on it repeatedly. That way, if you touch it awkwardly in the future, it will still pick up your print. I always try to make sure I go all the way around the outside edge of the print I am setting up.

It works well for unlocking Bitwarden also, which is much safer than unlocking it with a Pin, and more convenient than typing my master password.

Purchased one of these during the last sale. Genuinely impressed. Using it on desktop and setup was a breeze. Using windows hello works every single time.

It likely won't work if you have Windows 11. There's no plug and play, and installing the driver manually will probably fail too. The only way I've seen it work on Windows 11 is if Windows Update finds a driver update for you (then there's a 50-50 chance that it will work).

You lucked out. Mine arrived today and wouldn't work with 10 or 11, manual driver or windows update, it just timed out responding to device. Returned it.

I bought one of these and had issues initially getting it set up with my fingerprint in Win11. Eventually I got it to go through and it works great. I wish I could remember what I did to make it work

BitWarden would be my main use but I hadn't pulled the trigger yet. I still wasn't going to, but all of you claiming it won't work triggered me a bit. I work in IT and aside from some enterprise stuff that is extremely purpose-driven, I have yet to find anything that'd keep you from working if opting to upgrade to Windows 11. I'll call this research, but I just like a challenge Wink

Do you mean you haven't found a single program or physical accessory (such as this) that has had compatibility issues between Windows 10 and 11? My help desk colleagues are constantly complaining about this very thing, and I see it posted on tech forums nearly daily. I can't speak firsthand on it as I'm sticking to 10 but you'd have to be a special kind of oblivious to not notice all the people complaining about it.
