Gotta say Patagonia stands behind their products. I just had a situation where I badly ripped (6-7 inches) a down jacket, called them up, $5 to repair including shipping , got it back in perfect condition in 6 weeks .

IMHO no. You're buying a logo. Patagonia products (at least the fair majority) aren't made in America. So the hike up in price doesn't make a whole lot of sense, other than as I've said the logo. Of course they treat employees well and do great things for the environment, so if you can afford that markup go for it.

Can you suggest a company without "hiked up" prices that you would say is comparable or better in quality?

I mean any other company using none US factories to make their clothing. The markup for Patagonia is pretty crazy to me. A long sleeve shirt for $55, hoodie for $89 GTFO. Don't get me wrong I love the company and what they're doing. Love that their products contain a ton of recycled material, I just can't justify the cost.

Fit and garment construction are typically better with brands like patagonia.

Big fan of Patagonia and wear at least 1-2 pieces on a daily basis, but there are alternatives if you are focused more on US-based manufacturing than the overall sustainability of the product lifecycle. American Giant is my other go to since they are cut and sewn in the US and use US made polartec fleece (which is usually made from recycled plastic): https://www.american-giant.com/pr...tage-black

Just noticed that when you click the OP's hyperlink, it takes you to rebatesme, and then to the product page — is this how posters get paid? If we click that link, the cash back goes to the OPs rebatesme account?
