FYI - this game is included in the $100 voucher bundle if you have switch online. So for $30 more you can get a second digital game, if that's of interest to you.
I have yet to preorder this, was hoping someplace would have some kind of something as an incentive and I guess a piece of wood is it. I just don't like that I'm ordering online, getting the game shipped, and having to rely on going to a physical Gamestop to get my bonus item.. It should be shipped with the item. Gamestop is an hour away and who can trust them?
Edit: I called the local Gamestop and he hadn't heard of this, but said they may or may not have them in stock when you come to redeem this since there's no real tie to what store you'd be going to vs preordering online. Seems like recipe for disaster - they should just ship them out instead of hoping you get the item when you show up to the store.
I used all of my Gamestop Pro Rewards on $10 eshop GCs.
So I have now $100 eshop funds for this game plus the DLC that would surely come later...technically at the cost of $50 total.
I prefer physical but for 50% off I'll go with the digital version....
They had console games more expensive than 70 bucks in the 90s.
I had a poor family member who paid $75 for an N64 copy of NBA Hangtime for me as a birthday present in what must have been 1997 or 1998.
All I can say is, I'm glad I didn't buy it myself, because boy would it suck for that game to have the dubious distinction of being The Most Expensive Game I Ever Bought.

Yep, cartridge prices were nuts. I paid $80 for Super Mario RPG when it released on SNES. People have just gotten used to games being significantly less expensive in the last 20 years.

Are they still doing that? Last time I tried they said I couldn't use my rewards on those GCs.

Not sure about now but I did it throughout the entire 2022. It would not work on $5 GCs but worked totally fine on $10 GCs making it effectively 50% off. I did it online every month so I never had to go to the stores. I did not renew the membership so not sure if it still works online. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks. Tha'ts interesting. I'll check to see if there are any games I like on the list.
It would be more like $34+taxes though as I don't already have Switch Online. ($4 for Switch Online 1 month)
UPDATE: Found in that thread Switch Online membership on release date is required to use that voucher....Hmm then it costs a lot more than expected as I really have no use for Switch Online. No one in my house wants it... I'll just stick with my plan to use the $100 on Zelda with DLC. Thanks for the info though.

considering you can play this game 100+ hours, this is cheap entertainment
