BEFORE YOU BUY - Be aware, the packaging on these refurb units is absolutely terrible! These units are shipped in a universal brown refurb box, with a meaningless amount of broken foam. The unit WILL get beat up in shipping, how badly it's damaged is a roll of the dice.
Furthermore, several people have reported missing installation components such as foam insulation. So even if you get a good unit, you may have to spend more money replacing missing parts.
So before you purchase, anticipate on the very likely chance you will have to return it, or spend more money on missing pieces. You might get lucky and get a decent unit, but don't assume that.

We installed one on the bedroom window, which is right next to our heads. At full blast, it is about as loud as a normal oscillating fan. On low, I have to put my hand in front of the vent to know if it's on or not.

Pros: price, ease of install, efficiency, wall unit has no concern of negative room pressure...
Cons: if you do a garbage job at installing, it could leaked inside, smell if too much water sits in the outside part's pans, kinda weird noises due to pressurized components.

Can't believe how quiet it is compared to my previous one that was half the BTU. But I also will agree with the first post about the proper install. Definitely read horror stories in some reviews about that.

Mine lasted all summer. And last week when I went to turn it on. No cold air. Not sure if you could return to Sams club but Midea but gave me my money back instead of replacing under warranty
