From the page, just so people know. I think it's still a good deal.

Just so people know, other than the top which is listed as actual (maybe not solid) Spruce, the body of this guitar is not made of real wood, but HPL (high pressure laminate) that's more akin to Formica countertops than traditional wood laminates…if that's important to you. There's a good overview here about HPL (I have no affiliation whatsoever, I just found it interesting): https://hazeguitars.com/blog/what...pl-guitars

Agreed. One can get an all solid wood (top, back, sides) Martin in the Junior series or by spending a bit more on the Road series

I got one of these (without eletronics) in a previous SD https://slickdeals.net/f/15284836-martin-000-x2-acoustic-guitar-natural-343-from-sweetwater-on-ebay

Martin provides a lifetime warranty to the original owner. I would really want to know if you still get that with a "restock". The guitar is great, but I hear that the natural wood top expands & contracts with the weather, as normal, but the formica back and sides do not. So, apparently, sometimes the top will split from the sides in spots. A lifetime warranty could be a good thing, in the long run.

I personally have 2 of the Breedlove Organic series all-solid wood models and they're excellent. And they cost around the same as this Martin.

Come on. It may have the label, but is this "REALLY" a Martin?

The organic series starts at $1000. Where are you seeing them for a comparable price to this Martin?

I have a US made 000X1 that's almost 20 years old. Survived without a humidifier in GA summer and winters. The backing is also pretty tough compared to natural wood and finish.

I have a all mahogany D15M and a newer DX1E and honestly the sound quality is close enough for half the cost.

Folks might be scared away from the HPL, but it's a rugged, well-machined, affordable guitar

$750 at MF, not even on sale. I got mine cheaper. So, like I said, "around" the same price

EDIT: here's one for $700: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/g...56+MFWPDPT

I just want to make clear: I'm not trying to say this guitar isn't worth considering. I have more SE and non-MIA Fenders and Epiphones than I do American made ones. And all of them are solid, well-built, and sound great, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They also don't tend to hold their resale value and are more prone to having cosmetic defects (not affecting playability).

A great guitar can built anywhere, and great artisan can build them just about anywhere. I just want people to be as informed as possible about any and all considerations before spending their money.
