Loved KOTOR and mostly loved KOTOR 2 until you get near the end and it's just a mess of a game. I could not figure out why but then a quick google search showed they never really finished the game and threw it on the market incomplete which made perfect sense on how the game goes from super detailed to here is 14 paragraphs of text to read instead of actual content in the game. There was a mod for PC that tried to fill in the gaps but I'm sure this version doesn't have that which is the only reason I'd get it.

This is a pretty good deal if you want to play these on Switch. I generally figure a 2X Switch tax, meaning that if you can get a classic game for $2.50 on PC, then it'll be $5 (or more) on Switch. There's a lot of content in this pack and if you haven't played these games and like Star Wars, you'll almost certainly get your money's worth.

This deal shows a good example of the Switch tax. It's not the exact same list of games, but it mostly overlaps.

I remember thinking Shadows of the Empire was really cool as a kid, but coming back to it later, it's a total mess. Even reviewers at the time were pretty rough on it. They made really serious compromises to make that game work on cartridge. It shouldn't have been made for console.

Agreed. It's really, really hard to play those old FPS console games today, Shadows included. Some games it's best to just remember fondly and not revisit.

I came back to it recently as well and still had just as much fun as ever… I admire the combination of various genres and enjoy the story unfolding. There's flying, racing, shooting, platforming, jet pack battle… It's a very Star Wars adventure. I agree though that there are certainly valid points made by critics on the camera and controls.

Sometimes this stuff can be corrected with a "remaster." Just look at how much better Episode 1: Racer is on modern consoles. With the frame rate lifted from 20 to 60 FPS it's like a completely different game. And even though the textures aren't changed at all, increasing the resolution and going widescreen make it way better looking.

Star Wars racer or squadron, forget which, is free with prime gaming too.

People still paying the "Nintendo tax" everything higher priced on switch, in this case 100%
