It's crazy that you are downvoted to oblivion but you are right. Ring's T&C's allow for all your recordings to be shared with law enforcement against your will. There are instances of Ring sharing indoor cameras with law enforcement without your knowledge. I know most people won't care about a doorbell camera that is outside but it's just something to be cautioned about. If you want your recordings to be private get a Homekit doorbell or something local only. I will always advise against Ring, their service sucks anyways.
It's not that we can't afford it. It's that there shouldn't be a subscription for stuff like this. Other brands do the exact same thing for $0
I like doorbell cams in general. I wouldn't recommend this one. Eufy or Google is a better bet.

My internet was down for a whole day and stupid Ring was also down. No memory card for local storage. Weird thing was that other devices were also disconnected from internet but Ring somehow was still sending notifications to my phone but when I tried to view them it said it was off line. F@ck Ring took it down.

Very likely connected to another person's network through Amazon Sidewalk (Google it).

Paying to have big brother at your door. I wouldn't fen take this free.
Are you aware of how close satellites are able to see? If the gubment wanted to spy on you there's not anything you could do. You do you, but I prefer to be able to see who's knocking at my door.

I am not terribly worried about my personal data cuz nothing is private anymore. But subscription service for a doorbell is just too much. Went with Kasa.
Not to hijack the thread, but I'm looking for a simple local security system in addition to a video doorbell. Now that Ring charges $40/yr for basic service, anyone have suggestions for a free alternative? Eufy's security system looks really outdated and I've read a lot of negative reviews about Wyze.

I don't have any wyze door cams but I've had no problems with the Wyze Cam v3s and the Wyze Smart Vaccum for 6 months already.

I feel your pain. Ring product design is terrible af. Totally Wifi based camera. Seeing tons 240p videos even I have mesh Wifi at home. What should I do with the spotlight and the floodlight cameras? They are meant to be outside. Ring is totally trash with outdoor monitoring
