It's fine as long as you don't install any apps, take pictures/video, and don't create any content.
The 64GB Air model exists to upsell you to the 256GB Air model or to the 128GB Pro model. It's no accident that there's no 128GB Air model.

Most likely returns from customers within 30 days. Whether it's actually used by the customer isn't known. Best buy opens packages on high-value returns even if the customer didn't open it to prevent people with a shrinkwrap machine from swapping in a rock, so you might get lucky and it's completely unused. Anyways if you're unhappy with their grading system you can always cancel when you pickup or return it after you get it.

There is a $385 Excellent open box near me but I think the lack of Pro Motion display is a deal breaker after having a couple of iPad Pros.

Went to pick up the open box excellent condition iPad Air that I ordered for $385. The iPad itself was like new but it was missing the charger and the cable. They did not want to give me another original charger and cable, so I just returned it. Check the condition of the item in store before you leave.

For 64GB and $385 this is OK deal. I've got the previous generation for $350 on the Black Friday Walmart deal. I would not pay more for this tablet, I don't feel it's worth more. Previous or M1 processor doesn't matter, functionality is the same.
