If you're paying REI prices [rei.com] for these then yeah, you're gonna be pissed when they don't last. For $57 though, I think they're worth it, even if they only last a year. I had a pair of Targhee II's and they fell apart in short order, but they were super comfortable while they lasted.

Be aware, Keen shoes, especially the Targhee lines, have soles that tend to delaminate or lose treads quickly. Had a pair I got for around $45 but returned them based on recent reviews.

Yeah, these are not hard wearing but they are great while they last.

This would be a great deal if these had Keen quality of years ago, but the photo reviews for these Targhee III shoes on the REI store web page are shockingly bad.

I've worn mine since 2018 on average 4 weeks per year on various trails, including snow and mud. Still holding up well. All my buddies moved on to trail runners but mine are comfy with extra toe room and ankle support so I don't plan on changing anytime soon.
