I know, nobody is near a Micro Center, myself included. But they have a 12700K/MOBO/16GB DDR4 deal for $349.99. Just for price reference, don't flame me.

Seems like a solid deal, buying them separate is $120+ extra. Snagged a set, but I had to check out twice as the first time it was kicked back due to OOS. Tried again and it went through.
Meh, the non wifi refurb z690 was 80$ ar recently, the 12600k been $200 on sale. Ok deal i guess
returned this mobo because it totally died 2 weeks in i think because i edited some power settings in bios to reduce abnormally high PCH temp.
DOES NOT SUPPORT 13th gen, you need an ARRAY of different flash drives (because some dont work) to try updated bios from usb port, had to try several before i found one that worked, something they dont make very clear in the description which blows me away.
another commentor below said no linux driver support either? thats huge, had no idea, they throw this stuff at the consumerwith no knowledge of these issues, really sad and poor merchandising.
I haven't built a PC in years. What size PSU would this motherboard/CPU take?
Depends on what GPU youre pairing it with, assuming youre building a gaming PC. In games this CPU only pulls like 70-90w depending on the game, which is nothing at all. Absolute worst case scenario (100% load for rendering and other workstation work) it will pull around 200w.
But again if this is a gaming build the GPU is the biggest issue, a high end GPU can pull 500w on its own. You need to figure out the GPU youll be using before you can determine what size PSU you need.

I build a gaming PC for the first time in about a decade a few months ago. I've got this CPU, a similar MB and put a 750w PSU in it. I picked up a used 3080 TI for $600, which usually pulls 350 watts on its own. Still have plenty of headroom on power.
Its ok deal, last week had 12700k combo for $330ish. Im looking for a similar deal as i missed it, was sold out most of the time. I think 12700k is sweatspot as you get full 8 performance cores just like the 12900.

That combo has 2x8GB for a total of 16GB ram. If you need 32GB, those two 8GB sticks will be kind of a waste anyway.

Do you need to walk into a MicroCenter to see these deals, or you pretty much can see its Ads online, and then plan a trip going there? thanks

You can view everything online. They will not ship 99.9% of their products (I've seen a couple of things that they sell on Amazon directly), but they do allow you to order online and pick up within 3 days.

Great deal for good gaming AND productivity performance BUT it's a no from me. MSI motherboards don't have Linux driver support. I realize I'm in the severe minority here, but food for thought.
