The weight is actually a little heavier than 3.2lbs. My scale reads 3.8lbs.
I did have a problem with the screen going black randomly and not coming back on. Bios update fixed the issue. I paid $1200 so for $900 i might reconsider but the heat is problematic for me.
Stock drivers and software were utter crap. I reinstalled Windows and downloaded the latest drivers from AMD and nvidia. This helped with performance, battery life and stability
Stock wifi card isn't great, can cause various issues. I replaced the wifi card with an Intel one, been solid ever since
Using the Extreme Performance profile and gaming, you can pull more than the 100w power adapter can provide. Cap your CPU frequency a bit and not only will it fix this issue, it'll give you more FPS in games. Use the Intelligent Cooling profile also helps avoid battery drain while plugged in. Capping the CPU helps a lot with heat in general
GPU has a mux switch. You can turn off the nvidia GPU in bios for a battery boost and less heat. I rarely game so its off most of the time
The speakers are junk but sound a LOT better with Dolby Access app which is free for this model.
You shouldn't have to do this for a new laptop at all. But the specs are good and the price is good. So far I haven't had any major issues with mine and I've owned it for 6 months now
But normally when you plug your laptop to a bigger external monitor, normally it is in your home or in workplace, generally a fix area. For that what I would suggest is to get a decent Type-C hub with HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4 output and at least 90W + Power Delivery. In that way, you will not only get the monitor connectivity without any converter or special cable but also additional ports like full sized SD Card Reader, USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and even an extra Type-C data port. If you look for the deals, you can easily score one within 50 bucks from decent brands like Startech, Anker, Cable Matters etc.
