You don't have to buy in increments of 4. Looks like the discount will apply for any number of codes, at least up to 9. Price comes out to around $8/code if paying through PayPal. Really good deal, $4.80 per month for those looking to extend

Purchased and will wait for $.99 conversion promotion (as this is something Microsoft does regularly for new/returning customers). I can live with just gold benefits until then as I have more games I currently own than I could ever have time to play.

I just did this last night. My GPU was already expired. I purchased 4x Xbox Live Gold (3 month) codes as per the rundown given. I redeemed said codes on my xbox account. I then purchased the Xbox Live Ultimate w/ gift card money i had on my xbox account and it matched my Xbox Live Gold sub 1:1 plus an extra month. So I am good now until June 2024
