I called Ego customer support and asked if Woot is considered an authorized dealer. The lady put me on hold for a minute and came back and said it is an authorized dealer. I didn't ask for anything in writing, but that's good enough for me. If anyone else gets another answer, please post what they said to you.

I have this equipment for almost a year, I wouldn't recommend to get this model. The reason is because the string won't auto feed like how it advertised and you don't have a way to make the string come out. I have been cutting my grass with short string and not sure when the sting will extend.

Exactly the same reason that I picked one up. I have a ton of chicken wire and pavers to trim against. It absolutely eats line on my Power Head version. I don't love the idea of a dedicated trimmer when I already have the Power Head, but they don't make Line IQ for the Power Head version, so I picked this up. Really hoping the Line IQ is as advertised.

Not sure if Woot! would be considered Amazon or not probably worth a call to Ego or message on their Facebook page.
Unless something changed Northern Tool was also an authorized dealer along with smaller independent power equipment dealers.

Edit: I was replying to a question if it came with the Ego warranty. Apparently they deleted the question while I was writing.

My Dad just decided he wants to go electric for his string trimmer and this looks to be a decent option other than the Line IQ technology. Can the head still be tapped to extend line or when Line IQ fails, the trimmer is worthless?

If you aren't sold on the Line IQ, I would personally just buy a different trimmer. EGO has like five previous versions of their trimmer that are on sale all the time. The only reason this one would be a deal is if you actually wanted the Line IQ feature because it's only on this model.

It does it automatically. Pretty neat. The carbon fiber shaft really makes this light weight. I have the edger pole assembly as well and interchange heads on it. The difference in weight is considerable.

Warranty: 1-Year Limited EGO Warranty

This is not the normal 3/5 year warranty so it make me believe its refurb.

I'm on my second one and they are powerful. I bought the first one back in 2016 and recently gave it to my dad as I was moving out of state. Just bought this one and used it over the weekend. They are quite pricey but they are very good.

The LM2156SP is the highest model at the moment (the one you linked is second best) https://egopowerplus.com/21-inch-...-lm2156sp/ but it is $699 (comes with 10 Ah vs 7.5). But for $200 more I don't think the top model is worth it.
