Given that the process will include conversion multiple times (at 15-25% loss) - e.g. Delta battery to AC at 85% efficiency, and then Tesla's AC-to-DC (presuming again 85% efficiency) - in the ideal case you are looking at adding 1.5kWh to Tesla's 100kWh battery.

So - yes, you could charge your Tesla.... Barely :-)

Could someone please recommend some batteries? I have solar panels already but they want $15k to install Power Wall to use as generator/back up power. I don't have $15k to spend for few days of usage at most, but I want to be able to store some battery for laptop, maybe internet, phone chargers, etc but I don't want to worry about having to maintain charge/cycle/etc or danger of exploding if it gets too hot etc.
What would you recommend?

Be careful with Wellbots. I bought another product from them. They shipped it late. When I wanted tor return it, they never replied. I had to email more than once and finally they wrote back. I had to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee. The only reason I bought from them was that there was a discount and now I neither have the product and lost money on it.

You probably have to get a new inverter and some re-circuits depending where you live that's expensive on its own

How about getting a portable battery and plugging it into the wall (since the wall outlets are technically supplied by the generated electricity, even though it comes from the grid). Then if I need to run something, I can just plug the battery into the outlet that shares the same line? Like suicide cord or whatever it was called.
