So I guess 10% off is pretty common for Uber GC now, which matches the Capital One credit card deal. Buying GCs is a bit better because you can get cashback. And at least one or two 15% off deals seem to pop up every December. Sound about right?

One risk is that your account could be suspended for whatever reason. I don't remember why but Uber froze my account when I had $200+ in gift card credits. I got them to unfreeze it but it was scary and they were obviously not going to refund that. I'd recommend loading as you go rather than all at once.

That sucks. Currently have $500 worth of gift card on my account and hence the reason I never go over that amount.
Can you use an Uber Eats gift card for rides on Uber?
yes from the Newegg website:
-Redeemable via the Uber® or Uber Eats app within the U.S. in cities where Uber or Uber Eats is available
-The card is not redeemable outside the U.S.
-"Send as Gift" Function Available Upon Receive of the Gift Card. Customizable Name and Personal Message
-Print Card or Store to Google Pay / Apple Wallet
So much misinformation here. No Uber will not close your account if you have too much money in giftcards. How does that even make sense?? No they don't charge you more if you use GC. I been only using GC for years now.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that they froze my account *because* of the GCs. They froze it for a reason I can't remember, and I had a lot of GCs loaded up. I had major moments of panic because I was going to have my funds trapped there. My point is, get these GCs but my best practice is to load them when I need them / run out.

but how do you not remember what the reason was? Was it such a long time ago? Did they suspect you violated some terms or something? Was it a major hassle to get them to overturn it? Or was it their mistake? The shadiest thing I experienced with them was at the beginning when I Made my first order. They had been mailing me lots of offers to get me to start using Uber eats, something like $30 off my first order, but when I needed to make an order the code wouldn't work,Which happens a lot still. went ahead with the order thinking they would correct it when I called in, Like DoorDash would after the fact. But cs would only follow some stupid script, when it was clear that they have been mailing me all these offers…(found somewhere online others complaining that such codes never work and cs never helps..That and a few times when I would receive an order where a whole meal was missing, but they would not compensate at all because I had used a coupon.

I went ahead and made the order thinking they would correct it when I called in to help, Like DoorDash back then would correct it after the fact when a code did not apply as it should. But they just wouldn't fix it when it was clear that they have been mailing me all these offers… And then I found somewhere online other people complaining that such codes would never work and when they called a rep they would never help with it.That and a few times when I would receive an order where a whole meal was missing, but they would not compensate at all because I had used a coupon on the order. CS seems slightly improved since then. But now I will only order from them with at The very least a 40% off coupon.
Too bad this store won't let you buy two $50 gift cards with a discount. I never liked to put too much balance on any accounts.
