Grab it from apple for $999 with $150 gift card probably is a better deal. You can also grab the apple care plus for less on apple than buying afterwards.

Why would you need apple care plus if you have the 2x costco warranty and don't plan on dropping it?

I think with AppleCare+, you can walk into any Apple Store anywhere (except countries where Apple doesn't open official stores) and get service and exchanges same day.

Costco, after the 90 days(or was it 30?) exchange period, I believe you deal with AllState.

Up to the consumer which is better.
