Some dealers in my area, NE GA, are actually discounting the Ioniq5s $2500-$7500 right now. Not sure if that is a regional discount but the discounts seem to be coming from both the dealer and/or Hyundai. I know my local Hyundai dealer has had 3-5 Ioniq5s sitting in the front of their dealership for 1 - 2 months now that they can't seem to sell.

On a related note, the NHTSA just opened an investigation into the Ioniq5 due to reports that some Ioniqs are losing power while being driven. Not a full recall as of yet but enough complaints, around 30, to warrant a closer look. https://www.caranddriver.com/news...stigation/

Why buyout when you could invest those funds at a rate > 0.9%? Current 13-month CD's pay 4.3%.

Financing? Isn't the real deal when you do a lease, get the $7500 credit then do a lease buyout?

Tesla is owned by Musk, so no sale. I was cool with Hyundai until the deal with cars being easily stolen due to no immobilizer. As far as I know, that is not an issue with the electric ones, but is indicative of going cheap where you shouldn't go cheap.
My 2014 Ford PHEV only has 37k miles on it, so I am guessing I'll be fine for 10 more years.
Musk does not own tesla. He is co-owner with all the other share holders. he didn't even start tesla. LOL

+ Rivian
Rivian has definitely peaked my interest. Noticed more and more of them on the road recently as well, and new showrooms opening. I at least like the look of them better than Tesla's models. But honestly in no rush at all. All the big guys seem to be releasing a lot of new EVs as well in the next year or two so let's see what some good ol competition does for pricing and features.

My hybrids have. And Musk is not worth supporting. Polestar for my next one...maybe.

Nonsense.
Almost anyone will sell you a car with bad credit it's just a matter of how much you want to get screwed. Good luck getting a good rate on a Pallisade with bad credit or them even selling you one at all.

The Leaf is literally the only EV to have serious problems with heat. Ever other modern EV is water cooled.

Now given that Phoenix is a monument to man's arrogance it's possible that liquid cooled battery would still overheat, but I'd be surprised if there was significant degradation like with the Leaf.
Quote from warlock110 :
The leaf had one of the worst design to keep the thermal down on their battery. They used a passive cooling system that eventually get clogged up (kindda like the prius, the only issue is the prius battery was 9kwh and the leaf is in the 50kwh)... but the same issue also kill the prius battery, you have to clean the filter to have the battery cool down properly.

These guys have active cooling setup, so I don't see the heat having a big effect, you will not get the same range because the active cooler will have to pump it's liquid through the system and that takes away some battery energy, but it should be ok.
I was not aware of this! All this time I would reference the Nissan Leaf as to why I was so hesitant on driving an EV in the desert. Sadly, I'm not in the market for a vehicle (re: can't afford), but I've been looking into EVs more especially the Ionic 5. I appreciate the insight!

Don't buy Hyundai. All my mechanics friends says they have the worse engine and will only cause you headaches in the end.

a little off topic, i found many used Tesla model 3 (between 2020 to 2023) on used car market for $30k or higher. However, the new 2023 Tesla model 3 is roughly about the same price as used after federal and state tax incentives.

Why some people still buying used? Maybe i'm missing something.
Because "I only want what I owe on it" rather than seeing what the current market is.

Which models? My last 2 lasted 15 years. My current 2 have 5 years each going strong and great warranties if anything dies. But, by all means give vague warnings about cars. What specific model and years?

I don't like dealing with dealers and Tesla is better value with tax rebate. Also, their charging network is unbeatable. Ended up getting model y for 43k ish after rebate.

Still a great deal if you consider how much $ the current administration keeps printing. Inflation is so much higher then 1.49%
Oh great another know it all on here. Get a life and learn how the federal govt works. The reason you fall on trumps lap so hard is because you are too stupid to realize how dumb u are.
