From a cost/GB perspective, I have to agree. However, a lot of the value in this flash drive is in the convenience provided by the packaging. You're not going to find many NVMe USB enclosures this small, either. That being said, this drive will be quite a bit slower. Each device has its place on the workbench.

And the Samsung adds up.. as in size and you need an enclosure. These are portable and designed for a different purpose.

No.. it's not you. It's PNY. I had one failed too. But it was replaced under warranty. The newer model actually performs worse than the older model!

Stay away from these newer models. Bought this from the last deal and it performs worse than USB 2. Read and write speed sucks

I really do like the USB flash drive form, but I believe innovation has stagnated with them. Maybe they're just not as popular as they once were. The Samsung fit plus is my favorite, but capacity is limited. Micro SD cards seem to be popular with ever increasing capacities and speed. I think there was a SanDisk Ultra usb 3.0 for $12.88 from Walmart in another thread. I have a few of those with zero fail. I did loose a 128gb PNY once.

I've had these for a while when there was a price mistake at Staples. I use them to quickly transfer files from computer to computer, and to stick in the DVD player and TV to watch a quick movie. I use them all the time and they've been fantastic.

never use pny for anything you want to keep safe. i lost thousands of gameplay hours on my 3ds because their sd card failed on me years ago
