Do you live 20 miles or more from MicroCenter? Then it will probably cost you $20 in gas, wear, and tear, on your car to get this product, and so this deal is the best deal you can possibly find for a 7900 XT AMD GPU (with free shipping).

https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Speeds...B0BNLSZDCX

MERC chassis is very large (344 mm i think) but they use the same chassis for all their cards and pass the savings on to you! In a recent test the MERC 310 was #2 in keeping the card the coolest (only ASRock Taichi did better at cooling / overclocking.)

Cheapest price I've seen at retail and I've been tracking these cards since I bought a founder's card on Dec 12th 2022.

I would be all over this if I hadn't recently bought a 6900 XT for a great price on fb marketplace. The 7900 XT is beast.

Would add this is the Black too and it's clocked faster than the Ultra which doesn't really make sense in the naming scheme.

I've had this card since the end of January. It is indeed a beast.

Just a FYI, starting Tuesday, AMD is going to bundle Starfield Premium key with these graphics cards ($99.99 value). Don't know if prices on these will increase or stay the same.

Full list of AMD Radeon cards getting the $99.99 Starfield Premium :-

7900 XTX and XT
6900 XT & 6950 XT
6800 & 6800 XT
6700 & 6700 XT

The cheaper 7600/6600/6650 will be getting the standard edition of the game ($69.99)

Edit - Thought i'd also mention AMD CPU's will also be getting the game key as well. Starfield Premium will be bundled with the following :-

Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Ryzen 9 7950X
Ryzen 9 7900X3D
Ryzen 9 7900X
Ryzen 9 7900

and the Starfield Standard edition will be with the following :-

Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Ryzen 7 7700X
Ryzen 7 7700
Ryzen 5 7600X
Ryzen 5 7600

Editing Post again to change day from Monday to Tuesday. As per AMD website :-

Really should've started at $700 MSRP and gone down. This is the 6800XT of this generation, except it was priced far higher. The 6800XT is under $500 now and only 25% slower. Or the 6950XT is 15% slower and under $600. So even with these 7900XT price drops, its not really offering any better value, just more money for equally more performance.

Don't get too mad at AMD for asking $900 to start. The 7900 xt and xtx are more complex to manufacture than any Ryzen or Epyc processors, since they have GCDs and MCDs, and they are the most compact chiplet processors AMD has ever made. Initial yields might have been so poor that $700 would have been a lose-money price for the start of production. We gotta give AMD some pricing forgiveness to allow them to get better at making RDNA3 chiplet GPUs.

Let's imagine that the chiplet is probably 3/4 of the GPU price. So an $800 card has $600 of chiplet and $200 of mobo, fans, vapor chamber, backplate, rgb, etc. The chiplet price might drop in HALF over the first six months of production. Let's say the initial manufacturing cost was $800. When the chiplet ($600) yields improve it can begin costing them $300 so the overall price drops from $800 to $500 and so a $700 street price becomes possible.

If you've never made GPU chiplets before (AND NOBODY HAS) you cannot predict if will take six months or sixty months to get to that price-drop!

Vastly overestimating production costs.. maybe 20% is mfg costs.. this is 5nm. By the time retail gets their hands on it, usa import tax on chinese mfg goods, wholesale markup, you get $700+ From a baseline of lets say $240. Amd must profit, wholesale must profit, retail must profit.. 3 hands, 3x the price multiple. If scalpers were involved again add up to 10x..

AMD just tried to be greedy and didn't get away with it.

Did any of you know that TSMC increased its wafter costs to >200% for new-generation chips such as the 7900xt or 7900xtx? No, of course you didn't. If you knew more about the industry you wouldn't be so insensitive.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news...-damn-much

The 4080 / 4090 have seen chip production costs MORE THAN DOUBLE. Each time VLSI geometry shrinks, i.e. the minimum feature size which is usually the width of the smallest transistor gate, like going from 8nm in the 3000/6000 series to 4/5nm in the 4000/7000 series, the cost to build the new factory ROUGHLY DOUBLES. When I was a kid in the 70's you could build a VLSI factory for $5-$10 MILLION dollars. Today you can't even do it for $5-$10 BILLION dollars. Yep, the factory costs have increased 1000x+. We will see a time in the next 10 years when prices DO NOT drop because NOBODY can afford to build the next VLSI factory. Seriously. This is why Intel tanked. They weren't big enough to afford a 10nm factory !!

If you followed the news a little bit more closely, you would have learned that the VLSI import taxes were waived for 2023 for NVidia and AMD. That's why I bought a 7900xt in December 2022 - due to the threat of 25% import taxes, which were cancelled at the last minute! AMD and NVidia are not paying a 25% china-import tax. I gave a simplified example. I picked the numbers to illustrate a point. The $200 estimate of the costs of mobo, ram, packaging, fans, etc, is not too crazy for a flagship GPU, but I picked the numbers so the math would be simple. Also you don't seem to understand the GPU supply chain. XFX directly retails cards on Amazon. There is no wholesaler. The sellers on Amazon are XFX executives. I suspect there are similar arrangements for the other firms.

Do you know how you redeem this? I could re-buy my my 6950xt for the same price to get the code. Last time I bought mu 6950XT, Amazon didn't send my RE4 code until it shipped which is the case at the moment, so it would fall under the timeline.

All businesses are greedy because the point is to make money..like when you buy cheap deals here to sell on ebay.
Stop watching fairy tales.

I will play safe and wait till Tuesday when it is posted on Amazon. I bought one which should have come with last of us but as there was no mention on the page they did not honor it.

That's bad. I asked Amazon at the time they said they would e-mail it.

I just bought a 7900 XT and somehow missed the Last of Us promotion and now this one. So what happens if you buy one of these cards and redeem the game code? Does that mean you can't return the card if you end up not liking the card? Thinking of trying a 7600 for my older computer.

I got the ultra 7900 XT for 756 when it was offered. $800 total. Card is a beast, mine is hitting over 2900 MHz in demanding games with no overclock like Jedi Survivor. I'm happy with my purchase, and at this price I'd jump on it again. This card has a silver backplate mine is black, I like the look of mine better but to each their own.
