Couldn't you just get an Ethernet port dongle to attach on?

Anyone know if I can do one 4k 60hz and another 1080p at 60hz at the same time. It looks like you cannot do dual 4k 60hz but if the other one is 1080p will that work?

This is the best, cheapest USB-C hub I've found that has a detachable USB-C cable for the main connection. Keep that in mind!

Most USB-C hubs don't allow for that, restricting: ability to repair, length options, male end angle options, etc. (edit: Extension cables can cause performance issues with charge or data rates, and generally are pretty poorly made unless you pay a premium)

The hub feels like it's made of very cheap plastic compared to other Anker options of a similar price, but it works well.

I don't imagine the shell will cause any issues, just odd that this is so pricey compared to their aluminum options. I'm assuming it has to do with the detachable cable.

I've been using using it for my car audio setup to connect to it my DAC/DSP and play hi-resolution audio while charging my phone.

This Baseus is a much better hub for less money, even with the linked deal expired. It has Ethernet and supports dual 4k60 output.

I personally use this one, which is lighter than the baseus, has 2.5gb Ethernet, 10gb USB ports, and is still cheaper than this Anker. It supports 4k120, but has only one HDMI port:

USB C Hub Multiport Adapter with 8K@30Hz / 4K@120Hz HDMI, 7 in 1 40Gbps USB C Docking Station for Laptop [100W PD, 10Gbps Data, 2.5G Ethernet, TF/SD 3.0] Compatible with MacBook Pro Air HP Dell More https://a.co/d/46fNCZd

Agreed. Lost on some posters. Sure there are different options that are a little cheaper. I use one of them. But this has a longer, detachable cable. When you are trying to hide your hub, the cheaper options just don't work. They have like a 9 inch cable. This is much longer and if it getw damaged can be replaced. It also has a higher power distribution than a lot of cheaper options. Mine gos up to 65w, which matches my work laptop.

Why not go with a USB c extension cable?
I am looking for a dock and want to hide it under my desk (by my kvm) so this is appealing but don't want to give priority to a removable cable when an extension would work just as well.

The extension cable can work just fine, but depending on what you're trying to use the hub for, you might end up spending the same or more money for a cable that maintains its features.

Extension cables are often poorly constructed (unless you pay) and can hinder charge and data rates.

If you want to completely avoid reliability, compatibility, and performance issues, this is the way to go.

With this, you can simply buy a nice, guaranteed to function at advertised rates USB-C cable and be good to go. Though you might be able to research an extension that fits your needs with another hub; I doubt you'll find a deal this good.

Thanks, good call. I assumed it could either do 1x4k120 or 2x4k60, but it can only do 2x4k30 when you do two monitors. I don't have a second monitor, so I got the "QUUGE" branded one for the 1x4k120.

Purchased one of these yesterday. If I wanted a really nice dock I would be spending a whole lot more money.

I don't have a 4K monitor (yet). Very happy with my "Dell S2721DGF 27" 1440p 165hz". Need to get another, my second monitor is an "ASUS VP249QGR 23.8" 144Hz" that I got in May 2020 during the monitor shortage lol.

This will go nicely with my desktop PC that I currently have a Aukey one from a couple years ago that is not very good.

Had to go dig up the order for that Aukey I have.

AUKEY CBC78

Got it for $37 in 2021.

Not a fan.
