Edit: As expected, now that this is public info they patched it. The zip code check is still client side so it seems like it's possible to bypass still but I did not investigate any further.

Original post below:

Originally I didn't want to make this method too easy because it'll be easy for them to patch out, but now I'm getting a lot of DMs and people asking for gifts for referrals, and that's not really something I wanted to see so I'll post the exact method for less tech savvy people to use (keep in mind that they can still easily patch this).

I can't seem to edit the wiki (I guess because I'm a "new user" despite being on here for 9 years; maybe because my reputation is too low). So if anyone else wants to edit this in, go for it.

This method is provided AS IS; USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

So the method is simple:
1. Use a modern, desktop browser; I can't be bothered to write/transpile this to support older browsers
2. Open dev tools (for chrome it's just F12, for others you may have to google it)
3. Go through sign up. For EVERY page that you see zip code, paste the code below into the devtools and press enter. This includes the initial sign up page + address page + final payment page.
const original = Object.getOwnPropertyDescriptor(window, 'fetch');
Object.defineProperty(window, 'fetch', Object.assign({}, original, {
value: function (path, options) {
if (typeof path !== 'string' || path !== '/api/authCheck') {
return original.value.apply(this, arguments);
}
const bodyObj = JSON.parse(options.body);
bodyObj.zip = '33125';
options.body = JSON.stringify(bodyObj);
return original.value.call(this, path, options);
}
}));

Remember that this resets every time the page changes, so you have to re-paste it.

If this worked for you, I ask that you share your 2 referrals with the community and upvote this message.

Thanks!

Edit: do the code above before you press any kind of continue or submit button.

Is this a sneaky crypto ad? I remember hearing about Helium in the news a while back, and it was about how they were using crypto to incentivize running Helium nodes. Is that still going on or have they pivoted to a non-crypto model?

This doesn't require you to mine, buy, invest, shill, or do anything with cryptocurrency.
The crypto stuff is optional. Only enable if you want that.

Just treat it like a super cheap phone plan.

I used a Miami address, got a data only eSim, and then somehow it also let me add a Voice eSim. I can't reproduce it any more.
Where did you get that prompt? Mobile app or website?

On both. Turned out that if you have phones that support dual eSIM (not just a pSIM and an eSIM), then you can activate their eSIM.

Known phones with support for dual eSIMs are the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Anyone that used a Miami Zip/Address to get through - does it give you an option to change shipping address for pSim before they ship?

The one thing I see as a bit privacy sketchy with the plan is they ask you to turn on full time location tracking so they can map their network or something - so you can earn some sort of crypto. I'm very confident that a major play will also be to sell that location data. I'm sure every iPhone user they can get to turn on that location tracking will be a bit valuable since Apple cranked down on location tracking. I'm skipping the location tracking.

The operation of this Ponzi scheme revolves around cryptocurrency involvement. They entice individuals to purchase their so-called 'proprietary hardware' using a scam token for exchange. This hardware supposedly supports the phone network they market to consumers. In essence, they remain at the top of the Ponzi scheme, accumulating all the funds. Whether you accept it or not, you're becoming part of this Ponzi cycle. I'm not here to pass moral judgment on those who willingly engage in this cycle, but personally I have no interest in participating in shady business.

EDIT: I didn't realize you were OP. Why are you so interested in shilling this, do you have some kind of financial incentive?
No financial incentive for me for me to share this on slickdeals.

I could care less what the prices for HNT, MOBILE, or IOT go to. Looking at the tokenomics of them, I expect them to DROP in value/price.

I AM using the location mapper in the Helium Mobile app to generate MOBILE tokens, in hopes that in the future it can be used to pay for the Helium monthly service.

Something to keep in mind, the more people that enable location mapping in the helium app, the less the rewards will be for everyone. So if I expected to exploit this for financial gain, I would not be sharing it.

I did have a free helium miner that was provided through fairspot which gave something like 70% of it's earnings. At the time people we're raking in money from mining HNT and paying hundreds to many different manufacturers of the hotspots with waitlists stretching 6months or more.

I earned maybe $11 about 180 days after which they just transferred the hardware to me for free since it was no longer profitable...I've repurposed the rasp pi that was in the Nebra hotspot to run Klipper for my 3d printer.

I don't have a lot of faith in any of their tokens, but I'll take the cheap phone service while it exists.

My personal opinion is DO NOT invest in buying any tokens related to this.

I have Helium Mobile data enabled on my phone right now and highly recommended. You're getting T-Mobile coverage with minimal downside! What's to lose?

They charged me $6.68 for a $5 plan. This is a scam. Unlimited everything for $6.68 instead of $5
Is the extra for E911, Universal Service Fund, and/or taxes? If so, sounds pretty standard.

Hello mobile has no extra fees. $5 flat. Is this better than hello mobile?

I've been wondering about the same thing. I'd also like to know if it'll work on a smartwatch.

There are some people running on unsupported devices.
The weird thing is they split the data/voice sims.

For example my galaxy s20 can support dual esim, so I loaded the esim link they sent me and it works.
But for some other devices it requires a psim for voice and an esim for data.
As far as I know there is no psim available for data yet.
any idea why supported phones are so little?
Wouldn't it be any unlocked USA phone should work?

Are you talking about the 500MB data plan? This Helium plan is at least 30GB.

The $5 Hello Mobile plan only has 500MB. Their plan that is equivalent to the Helium plan (unlimited) is $25.
